The SauerBox: A Gaming/HTPC Build (Hardware) [now with more pictures!]
This post has been relocated to the SauerBlog, my new blog for technical projects and posts:
I'll put more pictures up soon. I still think its possible that I just didn't seat the fan properly, or that the thermal paste that came on it was old, or something like that. However, everyone I know with a Haswell (2 other people) have confirmed that they certainly have the potential to not run cool. The chances that all three of us lost the silicon lottery seem low.
Really sweet build! I helped build a haswell rig for my brother but I can't tell you if it run too hot or not he went with water cooling from the get go and it runs especially cool because of that! I can't wait for my next build I always have fun doing them.

Nice post, and the timing is great too! I'm getting ready to build a new machine as well (though not going mini-itx).
I'm surprised at how hot the cpu ran with the stock cooling. I'm hoping I won't have similar heat issues with my larger case.
You should take a picture of the back. I'd like to see that.

Not sure if people who respond here will get updates, but the post has been updated with more pictures.
